The wonderful world of sleep constitutes a major portion of our lives. Sleeping is an activity in which we must participate if we expect to continue to live. Without sleep, we can experience mood swings, delusions, hallucinations, and seizures. While an attempt to stay awake for long periods of time usually fail with a resultant unconscious, limp body blithely hugging a pillow, we choose not to treat this topic lightly.
Let’s face it, anything that makes it hard for us to get the sleep we need, we can label as “whack”; therefore, this page of “The Whack Word” an online magazine is dedicated to everything to do with sleep. I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea; I have been snoring for years interrupting my wife’s sleep. Our daughter as a child refused to sleep at night and it was only music that saved us. Some people can’t sleep long because of body pain. Others are insomniacs. These topics and more will be discussed.
